Do you wait for sales or always buy a game if your backlog is empty?

Was just curious. While I make exceptions when it’s a game I desperately want I typically wait for sales. Like I just finished a game and my backlog is now empty. I have about 8 games on my wishlist I really want but am now just doing random achievements in games while I wait for one to go on sale.

Just curious if people just replay games or do random things while they wait for a sale or if they just buy whenever.

This question is more aimed at when there isn’t a game you’ve desperately been wanting to get.
