Shattered Veil Easter Egg Bugged??

So my friend and I have tried doing the Easter egg twice now. The first time we got stuck unable to place the relic flask in the blue room to trigger that mini boss fight. Now we got stuck unable to place the relic in the purple or the blue room?? Super frustrating when you use the nice gobble gums and you’re stuck. Anyone else running into this? Is there something we’re doing wrong?? We have all of the relics and are unable to place them on their respective pedestal while we have the correct ray gun mark 2 set up
