The person training me left on maternity leave. I have to pick up where she left off. Insanely overworked office and I don't know what to do.

I took a job offer late March for a medical billing office. We handle medical billing requests, enter charges, and send them out to law offices. I quickly learned how overworked and insane this office's workload is. Its constant emails from a ton of medical providers, tons of emails from attorneys requesting docs, excel sheets due for multiple people weekly, etc.

Sounds simple but the sheer amount of time it takes to put together files, create health insurance claim forms, all for a ton of doctors for each day of the week is insanity. Think of the most tedious work that takes forever to do for 1 assignment, but up that by 10 more assignments and they are all pressing issues. on top of law firms emailing you, calling you, requests from other coworkers. Its too much. We are in the middle of transferring from 1 software to another and the IT in charge is fumbling it hard.

The person training me told me she was going on maternity leave late May but her doctor advised her to be induced this coming first week of may. My training was suddenly cut short, i was rushed to finish on training how to handle specific doctors, now today was her last day and im thrown to the wolves. Im sitting here writing this post because in all honesty im stressed. My trainer told me early on that this place is overworked and if i handle stress well. I was honest and said im looking for another job - preferably in a law office since im finishing up a paralegal studies degree. She was supportive of me leaving asap and said she was trying to leave as well.

Well, now that she is gone and i am absolutely clueless on how im supposed to take this person's workload. My manager is clueless as well. I asked for help soon after my trainer left and my manager was just as clueless as I am. The ONLY person who knew our side of the office's operations is gone. I was hired with 2 other people and they both mysteriously stopped showing up at the same time. I believe they were fired since i was told they've fired new hires before.

Why this place thought they could hire someone and throw this one someone is beyond me. It would be different if any other coworkers knew my side of the operations but everyone is literally clueless so asking for help is moot. I have no help because they literally cannot help.

The place is a circus. Oh, and this job pays $16 a fucking hour. I only took it because I could not bear any more time unemployed in this job market. I have savings, i live at home, im extremely lucky to have a support system after shit hit the fan for me a bit back. So im not dying, but im not exactly living either. I count my blessings though.

So, reddit. Im considering not even coming back Monday. I really dont want to be unemployed but im already stressed the fuck out and dont think i can hang on any longer here. I am drowning in work and i dont give a fuck about a place doing this to someone. Tf do i even do.
