Is this a result of the disorder... Or a whole other issue like Selfishness 😔.
My husband's schizophrenia has been well managed for the most part for 5 years. He is on disability and he does not work. I work full time and do a large portion of the responsibilities, whether checking, cooking paying the bills. I'm ok with taking on a little more to help balance everything with my husband bc some days are harder than others and I get that. With that Said, tonight I asked for help feeding the pets bc I was going to clean the kitchen and make dinner. I got attitude over asking for help. I understand that his disorder isn't spirratic and he is effected in one way or another every day. But The other aspect too is I have bipolar disorder that I have been keeping in check for a while. I still battle everyday though. At this point I'm just at a loss bc he will get very defensive and it's is not a productive conversation. Sometimes he will come back and apologize but at this point I'm just exhausted.. and I have run out of ideas. This isn't just an occasional thing. It's all the time, me asking for help and getting rude responses. I recognize that others are going through more traumatic situations as I've seen on this thread. My heart goes out to anyone struggling. It hasnt always been a smooth ride for us so this post may sound petty but it's a full blown problem that I have been trying to discuss for a while. I don't want to become the silent caregiver. Maybe I have the wrong approach but what do I know... It's an emotional roller coaster
