[Measurement Check] 38DD to 36G
Hi all, first time posting so bear with me!
I am two years postpartum and stopped breastfeeding 8 months ago. Prior to pregnancy I went through IVF so my breasts have been through a lot. Throughout most of my first year postpartum I was engorged and now I can’t for the life of me figure out what my size is.
I’ve been wearing a 38DD, that’s what I wore while pregnant and breastfeeding. It never felt quite right but I stuck with it because it was the best fit I could find in nursing bras. Before IVF and pregnancy I was solidly a 36C and always found bras I liked easily.
I’ve stuck with 38DD but here’s the struggles…
-
Boobs feel like they’re getting stuck under the band. Depending on the brand the band feels too big, other brands it feels right, but still get the boobs falling out feeling.
-
Straps feel like they’re digging into my shoulders.
-
Spillage out the sides. Some bras are better than others with this, but I feel like most often I’m spilling out the sides.
-
And finally, even though I’m spilling out the sides there is a significant gap in the front of the bra.
My husband measured me this morning and this is what we got…
- 91.5 cm
- 88 cm
- 82 cm
- 103.5 cm
- 113 cm
- 109.5 cm
Which came out to a 36G and honestly I can’t wrap my head around that. I did read through the guides here so I know that feeling isn’t uncommon. I tried to figure out my breast shape but the overwhelm is sinking in and I decided to just post before I give up.
I spent a solid 30 minutes crying in the Target changing room yesterday because I’m still wearing old nursing bras and pre-pregnancy sports bras that definitely don’t fit. But every time I get in a changing room it feels impossible to feel good in anything. And yes, I am in therapy. I just desperately want a bra that fits me so I can wear clothes I like. Currently living in oversized t-shirts and sweaters.
