I finally managed my eye eczema (mild but persistent eczema)
Hey guys I am sharing this because I know what it’s like to be in this position and looking for help. Never used steroids and avoided it.
Okay so in 2020 i had a massive flare up - it was a reaction of being careless, using so many chemicals , products, makeup on my eyes. My eyes were non stop having eczema, it would leave me with two dark eyelid patches. It kept coming back, sometimes i would have only one eye sometimes it’s both. I tried so many creams, I avoided steroids because I saw so many stuff about TSW.
I tried creams such as Boots eczema eye cream - this one soothened my eyes tbh, but it kept coming back. Obviously as years went on my eyes became stronger, I started realising my trigger was my prayer mat, dust and arabic perfume. And the hardest one was WINTER - every winter it would flare up because it dries the skin.
No creams would work but I looked on tiktok and it said Cicalfate eye repair cream by Avene. Now it wasn’t helping with my flare ups, but it was cooling it down, and it was helping the skin barrier.
THE TEA:
So I dug my own research: People with eczema has a loss of this gene called Filaggrin, so there has been studies that coconut oil slowly reintroduces this gene. So I started wearing coconut oil as well as cicalfate so much around september last year, it finally healed and then throughout winter I applied it so much. I Haven’t had eczema in winter can you imagine? Ofc i found my triggers as well but managing it in winter is tough. I also do use a chinese herbal eye cream from amazon, some ppl say it has steroids but idk the truth but im not stressed because i very very rarely use it only when i think my eyes itchy from dust.
I wouldn’t say my eyelid is cured but I have managed it and I know coconut oil works i can even share the specific one i used. I used to think BS but sometimes organic stuff really works. Doctors don’t believe in organic ways but genuinely it is, so don’t get thrown off bcos all they ever do is believe in medical stuff.
This isn’t for people with severe eczema, this is for people with mild eczema, still itchy asf and horrible, for our eyes. I can wear makeup and i don’t look tired in one eye. The herbal cream is good too i wudnt wear it everyday just whenever i think theres a possible trigger. And cicalfate is great in restoring skin barrier.
