Is Flexing Always the Right Move? Or Just a Different Way to Throw?
Curious to hear where this community stands on something I see constantly argued in matches and here on the subreddit.
Is it better for someone to flex into a role they’re bad at just to fill the comp, or to stick to what they’re best at even if it results in role stacking or a less-than-ideal team setup?
There’s this common narrative here that anyone who doesn’t swap is selfish, egotistical, or uncooperative. But at a certain rank, most players only have a few heroes they can genuinely contribute value with. Forcing someone off their best hero just to meet role symmetry can sometimes feel like a soft throw.
So what would you rather see in your lobby: • A player locking in what they know they’re effective on, even if it duplicates a role? • Or someone trying to flex, potentially underperforming and dragging down the match?
I’m not advocating for one or the other—just genuinely interested in the community’s take. Where’s the line between being a good teammate and sabotaging your own impact?
