How do I treat scalp pain after getting my hair done?

Recently got cornrows done for the first time and I had basically no pain except for the corners of my hairline where it felt very, very tense. After 24 hours I took 4 of them out were the corner of my hairline was because the pain was unbearable and I am getting them redone tomorrow (I was going to get them removed earlier but people were telling me it’s normal and I listened to them). It’s been a day now and I still get some sharp pains and wanted to know what to do to stop it?
