PWM Malevolent Low End Tuner
Hi Folks!
I made an M4l device that can partially fix the low end non linearity of the PWM Malevolents VCO by using bends, effectively creating a micro-tuning possibility from B-2.
Requirements:
- Ableton
- Something to feed midi to the midi track. This can be just a simple midi clip on it, but works with external keyboards and sequencers.
- A correctly tuned synth, where only the low end falls off.
Usage:
- Create a midi track, and use an External Instrument module.
- Set up a midi input on the track, as the output choose PWM Malevolent.
- Put the tuner device before the External Instruments module.
- Put a tuner on the track, and with the dials set up the amount of pitch bend you wish to apply.
- I have also shared a preset that works for my synth, and probably will work for you too, but test it and change it as it suits your needs.
Limitations:
- Detuned oscillators are not really working well with this.
- As pitch bend info is sent for every note you can't use the pitch bend function without issues.
- It is built around pitch bending. This in itself is not very elegant, but it works.

This works with other synths too if you have a similar issue, it's a general tool.
Have fun!
