It's been a while since we had such a beautiful day. The morning started off chilly at 13degrees but the little wind made the sunshine so much warmer.

The beach was dead quiet early morning and the high tide was rough. The sets between waves were very short, probably around 7 to 10 seconds. As the tide rolled out, the waves became tame and easy going.

The mouth has kept on the same route, it's still in the same flow as the last few months. However the terraforming of the beach has led to a few changes in the dunes and it's spectacular how the power of water shapes the lagoon.

It has been fairly quiet with the textiles coming for walks, and a few nudies set up camp. It wasn't too busy but it's great to see new faces from time to time.

The beach condition overall was superb. The water clean and clear, the debris and driftwood collected and or washed out somewhere but the beach was clean.

There was abundant bird life again today, the ibis, some egrets and a ton of seagulls made their way to around the lagoon.

Spectacularly I saw 2 small red antelope (duiker) on the beach, what they were trying to do, only they would know but to have seen them was quite astonishing especially beach side.

A few others came around, and a few more daring nudists made their way to the far end of the lagoon, and dashed for the water. The water was really nice for such an early wintery day.

Fishermen around the mouth was busy today, catching quite a few small pan sized fish,I didn't ask what fish exactly but it proved to be well worth a meal.

My stroll back, I took the long way through the nature reserve and I enjoyed the sounds and chirps of the bush. At one specific spot there was this lingering smell of cinnamon and elsewhere of lavender. These other types of smells really is intriguing given where they are found. I really wish to know where the smells are coming from.

A few hikers or strollers was met along the way, and the odd 'hi there' and 'hello' was exchanged. Pleasantries are always nice to be shared.

I reached the car park and and some more familiar faces were seen, other nudies heading to the beach. We nodded and greeted and off I went to do my weekly shopping. It was a tremendous day filled with tremendous intricacies which makes me even fall in love more and more with Umhlanga and the nature it offers.

Hoping to see you out on the lagoons edge soon!

Max
