Boxing / MMA classes

Areet, I’ve just moved to Newcastle from the south (South Shields). Can anyone recommend any boxing or MMA gyms for a newbie? I’ve never been to either but I’d love to start just not sure where.

Bit nervous as I have no experience so any clubs that take in new people would be ideal. Not interested in ‘boxercise’ style classes prefer the real thing.

Also if anyone knows - for my first class do I need full kit or do they provide? Don’t want to rock up unprepared and look like a knob haha
