Missing cat

My cat Kevin has been missing since 30/4/25. He had only just learnt how to use the catflap a few days before, the furthest I've seen him go is our next door neighbors garden. I've posted on so many Facebook groups, next-door and put him on a lost cat map, as well as putting up posters and handing out leaflets. I've only received two messages and they both say he was near the shops (1450 metres away). This is his first time going out as before we adopted him, he lived in an apartment. I'm worried the cat the lady has seen isn't my Kevin and that Kevin has either been attacked by a fox or dead somewhere. I guess I just need some reassurance. I haven't received anything about his microchip being scanned, he is also neutered.
