Significant Other

Our relationship lasted for three years, and never in my wildest thoughts did I imagine it would end just like that—so sudden, so cold, like everything we built didn’t matter.

For all those years, I gave you the best version of me. I was patient, understanding, and always chose love over pride. I made sure you had someone who supported you, someone who stayed—even when it was hard. I tried so hard to be the better version of myself for you, to the point that I started losing love for my own self, just to make you feel loved enough. What hurts the most is how you treated me in the end. I never stopped you from doing the things you enjoyed. I never made you feel small. I never even got angry when you spent entire days just playing games, barely noticing my presence. I let you be you—because I loved you.

Now I sit here, quietly hurting, wondering if you even realize what you’ve lost. I hope one day the weight of your choices finds you. I hope it haunts your nights, not out of bitterness, but because maybe then you’ll understand what it means to lose someone who would’ve stayed with you through everything. You didn’t just lose a girlfriend—you lost someone who chose you at your worst, who believed in you when you had nothing to offer but your presence. Someone who gave her all.
