belongings left at boyfriends house

my boyfriend and i just broke up yesterday and i realized i left my slippers at his house. is it insensitive for me to ask him if i can grab them? the breakup was pretty much mutual and we both still have love in our hearts for each other i just need to work on myself first. mind you im broke so i cant really afford another pair lol and my sister bought them for me for my birthday:/ should i just let it go? or is it fine if i just pick them up?
