Game crashed and I lost my save

I was exiting the Stone Waves Cliff cave after defeating the Chromatic Hexga and my game crashed. Now when I boot up the game, there isn't an option to continue, not even from an old save. It's just gone

Does anyone know how to fix this, or is this more of a Steam issue?
