X Button not working

So I am having a weird issue where I can scroll through the various dialogue options, but cannot use the X button to choose any of them - the X button works fine for initiating dialogue etc. just not for selecting any of the options. The Square button works still during this menu, but cannot progress the dialogue without the X button! Any solutions/advice happily recieved!

Note: I am on PC and my PS5 controller is connected via Bluetooth. I have tried with an Xbox controller and that has the same issue (notably with different buttons but the same issue overall) the save was created with my mouse and keyboard being the initial input devices. I've tried to turn off steam input and stuff, but that hasn't helped.
