New to Trading: Help!

Hi! I’ve been playing Webkinz since 2007 and I consider myself a pretty experienced player but there are some things I am still completely unaware of—one of them being trading. I have never traded before until yesterday. I really don’t know much about it and I’m trying to figure it out. I see people talking about lists and all sorts of things and I’m very lost. Can anyone help me out by explaining it simply for a beginner and what I should and shouldn’t be doing? I’ve been trading in the clubhouse room and just putting items that I think match the value of the other person’s items that they put. I’ve made a few successful trades and everyone has been super nice but I’m just worried I’m missing something or I’m not doing it right. I also don’t know about every item and what’s retired, exclusive, rare, etc. I’m worried about seeming rude for putting things that don’t match the value of the other person’s item(s).
