Recommendations for note taking apps?

I have an iPad air 11 in 2024 with a pencil pro. I've been trying to find a decent and affordable note taking application. I'd like if it had AI capabilities that can automatically generate notecards and recognize hand writing to help me search for specific notes. I've tried a couple apps, but I've been hesitant to subscribe to them because they are too vague with what they offer and I want to have a good idea of what I'm spending money on. Notability really rubbed me the wrong way because it only warned me that there was a limit for amount of writing I could do after I'd taken two pages of notes and the subscription layout refuses to specify what the amount of monthly AI usage is before I reach a limit. I tried freenotes, but I'd like to see if they're are less expensive options before I go down that path. Any advice would be appreciated. I've just been really frustrated with how opaque and anticonsumer the monetization schemes for these applications are and how little information exists online.
