Where do people actually get drugs?

So I'm writing a crime novel based around drugs like coke but I'm not actually sure where or how people get them, I'm an introverted nerd with not may friends so I've never been the party type so I have no idea how people actually get drugs or get mixed up with it? I would like the novel to be realistic if anyone can help thanks
