Gunshots and Man in Despair Last Night

My friend woke up around 3:30 am last night (she lives by Centennial/facing Olympic), and she heard gunshots/a man. She said he sounded hopeless, scared, and in a deep crisis, and that as he was yelling at the top if his lungs, his voice was cracking, and you could hear that he was sobbing.

She remembers that she heard him yell "Why can't I do anything right?" followed by a gunshot shortly after. He then said "I try so hard," and there was another gunshot. There was a bit of silence before she heard footsteps running away. She says the whole event took place over maybe 5 minutes.

My sister said there might have been more yelling, but at that point she closed her window because it was too disturbing. She says it might not have been super close to her dorm, as sound often carries well around that area.
