How is the game now?

I stopped playing during Christmas 2023. Before that, I played the game religiously cuz I wanted to get all of the surfers and boards. But it came to a point where I felt that the game was a chore and after failing to get Clockwork Johnny, it felt like a wake up call to stop. Since then, I've only heard that the only significant update I missed was the "Return to OG" update and I also learned that they separated the individual outfits. How is the game nowadays?
