My family kept missing critical diabetes meds — so I’m building something to help

Discussion

A few people in my family, including my uncle and aunt, are living with diabetes. Some are on insulin, others take oral meds. And honestly, one of the biggest struggles hasn’t been access to care or education — it’s the daily routine.

They forget doses. Eat late. Miss checks. We’ve tried alarms, sticky notes, even smart speakers... but it all kind of blends into the background after a while.

But there’s one thing that does get through — a phone call. When I call my dad and remind him, he listens.

That’s what gave me this idea:
What if you could schedule a real voice call — from yourself, a loved one, or even an AI — to check in or give a reminder?

So I’ve been building something called OnTimeCall. It lets you schedule future voice calls with personal messages like:

  • “Hey uncle, it’s time for your insulin.”
  • “Check your sugar before lunch.”
  • “Don’t forget your 6PM meds — you’re doing great.”

It’s not just another app notification. It’s a real phone call that feels human.

I know a lot of people out there are in the same situation — trying to care for loved ones while also managing their own busy lives. If this sounds like something that could help, I’d love for you to check it out or join the waitlist here: ontimecall.com

And if you've tried something similar, or have thoughts on what would actually make a tool like this work better — I’m all ears. Genuinely just trying to build something useful for families like mine.
