Need Advice: Is ACCA Still Worth It? Feeling Confused After Years of Planning

Ask India

Hi everyone, I'm currently waiting for my Class 12 (Plus Two) results, and I’ve been aiming to pursue ACCA ever since I was in 10th grade. Back then, the competition for ACCA was low, and it seemed like a great path for an international career in finance.

But recently, I came across a video that made me question everything. It said ACCA has become very common now, competition has increased, and the exam is of moderate difficulty—but many students are still struggling to find jobs afterward. I also heard that pursuing ACCA from India might not have as much value in foreign countries compared to doing it elsewhere.

Now I’m seriously worried. I never planned a second option, and this was my only goal. What if I complete ACCA, pass all the papers, but it doesn’t hold the same value as a full degree, or it doesn’t help me get a good job? That would mean I wasted three crucial years.

Also, I’d really like to know: Is there a difference between doing ACCA right after school versus doing it after a degree? Does one have more value than the other?

If anyone has experience or guidance, please share your honest thoughts. I’d really appreciate some wise advice right now.
