Miracle of science

Two months ago I got five Amano shrimp to join my three adult neocaridina shrimp chilling with the pea puffer pack (six sweet baby pea puffers who rejoined society after retiring from a life of gang warfare).

Now I have 9 Amano shrimp… some of them are orange where the original 5 were all clear with small markings.

What in the actual fug is going on here? Is it possible these weren’t actually Amano shrimp to begin with? It’s not a brackish tank. Did I just create Amano-rick? What is happening?

Bill Nye, I need you. (Scientifically and physically)
