Florida License Expiration

I lived in Florida for 6 years and recently have been temporarily living in Houston. My drivers License is expiring at the end of this month (May) but I will be going back to Florida in August.

Do I have to go through the process of getting a Texas license or can I renew my Florida license even though I don’t have an address in Florida? Is there a grade period? What are my options?

I also have a flight in June to California for a few days would this mess up my flight?
