Correct me if i’m wrong, but is it not crazy that people follow L. Ron Hubbard’s entire doctrine considering he wrote massive amounts of sci-fi novels?

i’m no expert, but isn’t just a tad bit strange that he was literally known for being an acclaimed sci-fi writer, and a lot of the scientology lure has sci-fi elements to it?? like don’t a lot of their literal beliefs sound like something out of a sci-fi novel!? is that not concerning to any of the people that are seriously considering their enrollment in the “church” (cult)?
