Constant need to pee and sleepless nights.

Any existing relevant medical issues- I have IBS

Current medications- used to be antibiotic Trimethoprim.

I have a constant feeling of needing to pee. It’s like a feeling of being so desperate I can feel like a burning in my urethra. When I do go to the toilet I get relief but it only lasts maybe 2-5 minutes. I also have cramping sensations in my stomach.

Here is a general overview of events.

1. Friday I hurt my leg and end up sitting around most of the day, this caused me to drink less and use the toilet less. I did end up having 2 glasses of wine at dinner and a glass of fizzy late evening. I did drink other things through out the day such as fruit juices but less than usual due to not getting up to get them.

2.Friday night me and my wife get hot in the bedroom and to spare you of the details is resulted in me getting oral sex. I do have hyper sensitivity on the glans of my penis but most of the time it’s no problem. This time it’s so sensitive it almost hurts, I just try to get past it and enjoy.

3. I’m awake all night where every time I go to the toilet I get a bit of relief, just how I explained at the start. Saturday morning I call my local pharmacist for advice and she advises to call out of hours doctors team as it may be a UTI. I do exactly that and get given antibiotics to treat a UTI.

4. I go throughout Saturday and I start to get stomach cramps and pain (may be caused by the antibiotics) so I call out of hours doctors to update them. They suggest I give them a urine sample to confirm the infection. The test comes back negative and they tell me to stop taking antibiotics and just drink more water.

5. I have another sleepless night making me feel really bad and run down.

Now I come here for help as I don’t know what to do. Should I contact the doctors again and go for a physical examination or just keep drinking water while suffering day and night? It’s really destroyed my entire life the last few days it’s been that bad. Please help!
