Banks PedalMonster initial thoughts

ND1 Club MT

I know it's not the same as an actual tune, but for what it is the PM seems pretty fun so far.

Install was pretty straight forward, Flyin' Miata has a helpful sheet of Miata specific supplemental instructions on their site, by using those I'm confident I've got everything routed the best way possible. Really the hardest part of the install was contorting around the driver side foot well.

Functionality wise, it sure seems to do exactly what it says (i.e., 20% pedal gets you 25% throttle, etc.). Nothing is actually quicker, but it FEELS quicker. I've got to drive it around more, but on Sport mode/ level 5 I've spun the tires a bit. I imagine that after you acclimate to it the difference won't be as noticeable, but going from the stock throttle curve to the new one was noticeable to me.

What's not so good? The app is pretty lack luster (you can add their 'iDash' gauge and of away with the app, at least as I understand it). Also, it isn't able to ID the car/being in reverse, so you've got to be mindful of going backwards.

Only weird thing I've noticed is with the car in accessory (i.e., engine off, "key" on) mode the throttle body/throttle position sensor makes a sort of high frequency humming sound. It doesn't do it with the engine running, and basically the only time I've put the car in accessory was calibrating the PM (or testing some infotainment mods), so I'm going to keep the PM installed.

Anyone else have experience with the PM? I imagine at some point I'll end up removing it and going the VersaTuner route, but for now it seems like a pretty easy, decent modification
