Stent Removal

Hey everyone,

I’ve recently gone through a laser lithotripsy procedure on Friday to remove a 9.2mm cluster of kidney stones. To preface this, my urologist tried going in to remove the stone the week prior and couldn’t because of my narrowed ureter. He placed a stent (with no protruding string) and scheduled me to come back the next week.

Good news is that my urologist was able to go in and blast the cluster and remove all of the fragments. The more uncomfortable news is the stent that I have currently with a string for removal.

Looking for others experiences on stent removal. I am going into his office to have it removed and just want to know what I’m in for. Is it painful? Any prep that you all have done beforehand that seemed to help with the removal?
