How do you navigate your woman being off birth control?

✅ Open to Everyone

Hi Men,

Wanting to get some opinions. I 34F, have been off of birth control for the last 2.5 years. Before that, I was on the pill for about 9 years. I was lucky, I never really saw any negative side effects going on or even coming off the pill. That said, I just prefer to be off it, it makes me feel more natural and I love not taking any medications.

I had a long term boyfriend when I was on the pill and we had great sex all the time. I was never worried about getting pregnant and that lack of stress really allowed intimacy to flow.

Fast forward, I have been with my current boyfriend for about 2 years. During that time, I have not used any birth control other than condoms. Honestly, it really has affected our sex life. We are much less spontaneous, and there is a near constant fear of pregnancy on both ends.

He obviously hates wearing condoms, but I haven't really had the mental capacity to consider going back on birth control until recently. Our relationship is suffering in other areas, and I can't help but feel like if they sex improved, other areas of the relationship would as well.

I feel like so much of the good parts of sex, especially for men, is the ability to finish inside. I have some concerns that if we can't figure this out, my partner will leave me to be with a women who is just on the pill. (My partner is a good man and I doubt this would actually happen, but its an insecurity I can't stop thinking about).

It's really hard as a woman to navigate wanting to connect with your partner on the deepest level, but also knowing that birth control is not great for women to be on.

How are the men navigating this?
