What does it mean if a teen screens a potential partner based on their capacity to be a good husband?

They check if he is financially responsible, has career goals, has goals for his future family, and saves for emergencies and future family life (ex daily expenses and children’s tuition). They also figure out if they can occasionally drop by at his parents’ house for the parents to get to know them and give them help in case something happened to them. They so check if they can get along with the parents and if the guy’s values and philosophy align with theirs. Is this too intense for a teen?
