I have a court case that was rescheduled, I'm due to go on holiday tomorrow and I've just been informed I have a warrant for failing to appear at court and I can't fly, help - Scotland
I was meant to have a court case on the 9th of April which was rescheduled by my lawyer. I have been awaiting a new date since then. I booked a holiday abroad for three nights which I'm due to fly out first thing tomorrow.
I received a call at 10pm last night from the airport police informing me that I have a warrant for failing to appear at court and if I come to the airport I will be arrested. I explained to him that it was rescheduled but he wasn't interested in listening. I contacted my lawyer who said he would try and contact them to recall the warrant because it's clearly a mistake. I spoke to him earlier and he said that they can't do anything because it's the weekend and Monday is a bank holiday. I'm now out of almost £1000 and a holiday. Is there anything I can do about this?
