GET OFF MY LAWN

Boomer Story

I still am in disbelief over this. This happened last week. Obligatory apology for mobile formatting.

Some context...our yard bumps up against the sidewalk because we have a corner lot. We have a large dog (50+ lbs) that we let out in the yard on a leash. He can't reach the sidewalk or our neighbors' driveway while on the leash. Since our babies were born, he is very protective and reactive. He barks at people walking by but will especially freak out over dogs. Howling, growling, barking...the whole nine yards. He also will dig holes if he's bored, so we can never leave him outside for long.

My husband let him outside. Maybe 5 minutes later it literally sounded like a pack of dogs was at the back door. We rush to the door and discover a boomer STANDING IN OUR YARD with his dog close to ours as both dogs bark, howl, and snap at each other. He was literally steps away from our back porch. This effing guy was on a walk with his dog, saw our protective and reactive dog, and decided "ah yes lemme just walk into their yard. That should fix it."

He said some nonsense about he figured the dogs would be friends. My husband got our dog inside and didn't tell the guy off...he should have. I had half a mind to lose it myself but I looked like a wreck and didn't want to step out the door. Next time I won't care and will go full angry mom. Oh, did I mention the crazy dog noises woke up my babies from their nap?! FFS. At least they went back to sleep.

Anyways, excuse me while I buy a yard sign that warns people not to approach....a growling, barking dog and ENTER SOMEONE'S YARD. Because apparently that needs to exist. Love that. Also these are the kinds of people who'd be like "omg your dog bit mine I'm going to sue you for all you're worth" like you and your dog are both asking to get bit, GTFO.

Rant over. Boomers gonna boomer.
