Should ‘Halloween Ends’ have been split into two?

For all the hate the film gets, I continue to be uniquely drawn to it.

That being said, so much seemed crammed into one film resulting in a subdued climax to Laurie/Michael’s story and an unrealized plot with “evil spreading” and Cory’s involvement.

Am I alone in thinking that much of this film (combined with some deleted content from the novel such as the aftermath of Kills) would have been a great set-up for one additional, final installment?
