I can't tell if my brain is just not working or if the dialogue is a little odd in Serenity Island?

I know the game is originally in Chinese, but the translations and localization have been pretty good for the earlier content. The dialogue on Serenity Island is just really weird? I don't know how to describe it, but it's like the characters jump from topic to topic with no bridge as to why. Or like they start a story and then don't reach a conclusion. If you've ever heard songs when someone goes through and removes every other beat, that's how this feels. Like my brain knows what's going on, but then keeps slipping a gear because something is missing in the dialogue.

Does anybody else feel this or is my brain just not braining lol?
