Other details:

Many years ago, I went to visit a cousin in another country. I remember playing a PC game with him. I do not know if what we played was the game itself, or maybe a multiplayer mode. The game was about Mechas (more like armored vehicles, instead of humanoid robots). I remember that the gameplay was about destroying the enemy's mechs, while moving up and down on a side view arena. The arena had platforms you could move up and down. After destroying the Mech, I remember that the pilot would be ejected, which then you would need to kill in order to win. I'm not sure if you could obtain a new Mech after a while, as my cousin would instantly kill me after being ejected.

This was from over 20 years ago, and I only have some faint memories.
