Zone 5/6 Fruit or flowering tree

I am looking to plant a "small" tree in front yard of my house In suburban Chicagoland area. No power lines nearby. I don't want one that grows taller than 15 feet or grows too wide so one that can handle appropriate pruning. I prefer a fruit or tree that flowers, and won't try to invade any water lines.

Any advice?
