Lips/inner cheek/tongue swelling and numbness
I’ve been having issues with the inside of my lips, inner cheeks, and tongue swelling randomly and/or going numb since before my first positive test at 4w 2d (currently 8w 2d). At first I assumed it was just allergies (even though I’ve never suffered with hayfeaver etc) then after my positive test I wondered if it was linked to the pregnancy so booked in at the doctors incase it was anything serious.
While I waited for my appointment I went to the pharmacy and asked the pharmacist who told me to try taking allergy tablets. They brought down the lip swelling each day but the next day they would puff up again. The swelling was so large a couple of days that the inside of the lip split which added to the discomfort even more.
Things seemed to subside at about 5-6w but I kept my doctors appointment. The doctor didn’t seem concerned and said it was likely because of a surge of hormones and if the swelling causes breathing difficulties to go to a&e. He ordered blood tests and the results came back all normal other than my Vitamin D which was extremely low 11.5 when it should be ~50. I’m now taking Vitamin D every day in the prescribed dose for the next 6 weeks. But I’m still having random bouts of swelling.
Has anyone else experienced anything similar? I can’t find much on Google
