Connection between frigid lowlands and ice sheet?

I highly suspect it's too good to be true and that I'm misunderstanding something but I just wanted to double check. As my brother and I get close to finishing all the Prometheus open world operations I was looking on IcarusIntel and saw caves near the bottom left of I10 that look kind of like a possible connection between the null sector and the frigid lowlands. Does this exist or am I misinterpreting the map? Thanks in advance :)
