I am hopeless, and I feel bad
Hi.
English is not my first language unfortunately so please don’t be rude.
I don’t really know what I’m expecting by posting here. But I’m so frustrated that it feels good just to let it out a bit.
I am 43 years old I’ve been taking guitar lessons for a year and a half. I try to play a little every day. And… I feel like it is inaccessible.
I can’t coordinate my left and right hands. I can’t produce any sound that actually sounds nice. Every time we work on a new song, we have to simplify it massively.
I feel like I’ll never get it. And yet I’m super motivated, I want to learn, and I know it’s a long process. But I just feel like I’m incredibly bad at it.
My teacher is organizing a concert with his students in three weeks. I’ve been invited to play, but I honestly don’t feel I have any business being there. I’m not afraid of looking ridiculous, but I’ll basically just be playing three chords, trying to keep the rhythm, and messing up one time out of five.
I know it is a really long process but after 18 months, I thought I could play guitar a little.
