Why FB messenger desktop apps are so bad? Both Mac and Win
On both Windows and Mac, desktop apps are super bad. Like, everything.
They use resources when not actively chatting. On Windows, the app works through Edge, and in the task manager, Edge is running at least 4% when idle. (I don't use Edge, Edge is running because of Messenger app.) On Mac, is the same story; when not actively chatting, the app is using resources.
Also, on Mac, after closing the app, the crash report is always on. I have sent those reports to Apple for a year. Probably at least 40 times. But nothing gets fixed.
On Windows, the app itself does not glitch or work slow, works fine, just uses way too many resources and is the main battery drainer. But on Mac (M1 with 16GB), the Messenger app has always worked and still works super slow. I sent a message, it takes time until it is sent. So, if I send two messages in a row, the first gets delivered, the second is on ''sending'', and then it gets delivered after I get a reply. It is so annoying to keep explaining that I send that message before as answer to previous question.
None of the other messaging apps work as slow on Mac.
I stopped using desktop FB messenger now. It's just not usable at all.
