I’ve always loved Oblivion. For years I’ve believed it’s the best Elder Scrolls game, held back only by its dated and aging graphics. But now, with the remaster, that last piece has finally fallen into place. Playing it again now feels like i’m a kid all over again, stepping out of the sewers and seeing the Imperial City for the first time.

The gameplay, the characters, the guilds, the world-building - it’s all so good. Yeah, it’s got bugs, broken dialogue, and downright weird glitches, but somehow that just makes it better. It’s part of the experience. Part of the charm. It just works.

What’s always stood out to me is how Oblivion treats the player. You’re not some god-touched being of legend. You’re just a guy. A prisoner. A nobody who chooses to make a difference. The story feels important, and it’s driven by your choices, not your bloodline.

I don’t hate Skyrim. I love it too. It brought the series to so many more people, and that’s something I’ll always respect. But I’ve always felt Oblivion has a special kind of soul, something I hope we see again in the future of the series.

Seeing all the excitement around the game again, seeing new players try it for the first time and old fans returning- it really means a lot. So to anyone just discovering Oblivion for the first time, or to those like me who’ve loved it for years—

thank you for keeping the magic alive.
