[TX] Considering a Career Pivot from Science to Law – Any Advice?
Hey y’all! Looking for advice, tips, personal experiences, or just a bit of encouragement.
My background is in chemistry—I worked as a chemist for a bit before transitioning into technical consulting. I’ve always been interested in becoming a lawyer, and I’m now at a point in my career where I’m ready for a new challenge.
I’ve met a few lawyers with scientific backgrounds who went into patent or intellectual property law, which really piqued my interest. On the other hand, my husband is an immigrant, and I’ve been very involved in the immigration process, which has also sparked a strong interest in immigration law.
I’m seriously considering dedicating my time to studying for the LSAT with the goal of attending law school part-time.
What do y’all think? Any advice or thoughts on making this kind of pivot?
I really appreciate any input—it’s super valuable to me!
