Possible to shrink tumor?
Hey all, ++-, grade 2, 47 yo, scheduled for lumpectomy in 9 days, no lymph node involvement (fingers crossed). My tumor is 3.3 cm, and to get the margins my surgeon will take something close to the size of a lime. I'm not quite a B cup, and I'm pretty concerned about how I'll look afterward with so much tissue taken out. I've met with a plastic surgeon and am considering reconstruction, but a lot is involved and I'm not looking forward to it.
I asked about neoadjuvant therapy to shrink the tumor before surgery, but I was told that ++- tumors don't respond well to it. I think I've seen other people post here about having neoadjuvant therapy for ++- tumors, and I wondered if anyone could share about their experience.
Also, if anyone wants to share about their reconstruction experience, please do! Sending love and strength to you all.
