Questions about the 2nd gen SE

I'm planning to gift my wife the 2nd-gen Apple Watch SE for Mother's Day, but I have a couple of questions before getting one:

• How long does the battery usually last?
• How many more years of watchOS updates can I expect for the 2nd-gen SE?
