Android 15 and audio routing with HAs

Using Philips Hearlink 9050s with a Pixel 7 Pro, Android 15, hoping someone else has come across this issue.

My phone defaults to routing media audio to my hearing aids, even if I've plugged in a USB-C headphone dongle. I have to go to the Now Playing thing under the quick settings pull down menu, click on the audio output button, then select "Wired Headphones."

Is there a quicker/more direct way of doing this? It feels like it takes far too many steps to do something that the OS should just do by default (route audio to headphones if they're plugged in).
