At what point is it acceptable to show scars?

22F. I have a LOT of fairly big (should have got stitches but didn’t, for an idea of size) scars on my forearm. Because a lot of them didn’t recieve the proper aftercare, some have gone hypertrophic, others keloid. As such, they’re retaining their redness for a lot longer than normal. They are fully healed, they are months old. But they still appear somewhat new because of how purple/red they are. When is it acceptable to wear short sleeves? TIA :)
