Mental health 7 yr old

My child is in 1st grade. He's had an extremely rough year behavior wise. There's a few kids with behavior issues to the point of having another adult in the room for the one child. "Ignore the behavior" was the plan in the classroom. My kid came home saying this like "no one cares about me" " i hate everything". When asked about where he hears that it's "_ says that in class". Now it's "i want to die", "this family sucks" "i want a new family that isn't mean". I don't want this rubbing off on my other kids. He's a constant cloud ruining every day with the negativity. Question is...do I take him to a therapist? He complains about us being mean every day but there's consequences to talking like that or yelling and being mean to the rest of the family.
