Hiring a back office / ops / finance role for a small buyout firm
Hi all, as part of the firm growth plan, I plan to hire a back office person to focus on investor reporting, capital accounts mgmt., investor relations and internal finances. It’s going to be a $50m fund so very small to start, so will need someone inexpensive for sure. I know I’ll have to do it via a contractor at the start but would like to hire someone to help the firm scale up. I’d like to home grow a talent to focus on this and the idea is that this individual would be the future COO or CFO for the firm at some point.
If I want to hire someone for $150-175k to start, what types of backgrounds should I look for? I prefer someone a bit younger and hungry and can grow over next couple decades.
Thanks!!
