Desky - spend $30 to make your $40 accessory usable

Review

Just needed to vent a bit about a frustrating experience with Desky. I hope this helps someone looking to invest in one of these.

I spent around $1,600 on one of their desk frames and was super happy with the build and service. Because of that, I figured I’d go all in and spend another ~$500 on accessories—cable management, power integration, the works. I intentionally bought from Desky instead of going with cheaper alternatives to support the brand.

One of those accessories was their cable & power channel. Naturally, I assumed it would be compatible with the frame I bought from them—especially since I bought their most expensive frame. Turns out, it's not compatible. To be fair, the product page does mention it's only for single and dual frames, not the quad. That part’s on me. But c’mon, why would you not design accessories to work with your flagship product?

I reached out to support, hoping they’d help me out. Their solution? Buy a $30 bracket to make it work. This is a small piece of metal that probably costs them pennies to make—yet they’re charging almost as much as the main accessory itself. What really got me is that after spending over $2,000 with them, they didn’t even offer to throw in the bracket. I didn’t ask—they didn’t offer. It felt like such a small gesture that could’ve easily turned a frustrating moment into a great customer experience.

Desky makes solid products, no doubt. But when there’s this much competition in the market, you'd think they'd know that little moments like this can make or break customer loyalty.
